Conner Prairie Oxbow Trail

Conner Prairie wanted to extend their existing trail system to offer all of their visitors the opportunity to explore the natural areas on their grounds.

Burke worked with the design team to create a trail system that allowed for Conner Prairie to have two different trail experiences, a Prairie Trail and a Rugged Trail, traversing several different environments such as riverine, wetland and farmland.

Pedestrians can travel approximately two miles along the ADA-compliant Prairie Trail to visit the overlook structures. The rugged trail follows the top of the existing berm, giving people the experience of walking through a natural environment.
