Aaron Fricke
Director of Engineering
As Burke’s director of engineering, A.J. Fricke leads a creative and outgoing team of engineers in a variety of projects.
After 17 years in the industry, A.J. approaches large and small projects with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail to provide sustainable and cost effective solutions for clients. He instills this same passion in his team for projects ranging from hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and dam inspections to stormwater improvements and transportation.
A.J. is also Burke’s resident dam expert. He organizes and leads training sessions and workshops for dam owners and emergency managers, teaching them how to implement a plan for a potential incident or emergency event at a dam. He is also well-versed in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s levee accreditation process to help levees meet the National Flood Insurance Program requirements.
In 2023, the Association of State Dam Safety Officials named A.J. as one of two Young Professionals of the Year for his contributions and dedication to dam safety.
