Louis Caito has been a part of CBBEL’s construction engineering team for more than a decade. He has worked with various clients, providing both part- and full-time construction inspection services on a wide range of projects such as dam improvements, stream restorations, street improvements and large tunnel projects. A Purdue grad and avid football fan, Louis enjoys the challenge of working closely with clients, contractors and construction teams to deliver projects that are done well and done right. In his spare time, Louis organizes the office fantasy football league and annual canoe to work day, and collects teddy bears. Find out below why he loves his work and why he thinks it would be awesome to be a sandy beach.
1. What are you most passionate about in this job?
I love working as part of a team and solving problems. A lot of the projects I work on are underground, so there can be plenty of unforeseen obstacles that need figured out. Working with the team to come up with the solutions is the most satisfying part of my job. Plus, I get to work outside!
2. Other people don’t find this exciting, so why do you?
It is exciting to me to dig deep and find new and better ways to overcome challenges on projects. I like learning, so I am always looking for an even better solution than the last. Then I get to share that knowledge on the next project, and the next.
3. Why is working for Burke different than anywhere else?
Working for Burke is different than anywhere else because of the people. It is like a big family. That kind of culture is hard to find anywhere else.
4. How long have you been doing your thing?
I have been working in Construction and Engineering related fields for over 15 years.
5. What, in your opinion, is the most important take away for your clients?
The most important take away for my clients is that we, as a company, are always looking out for their best interests. The Burke company as a whole is made of many professionals with a wide range of expertise who all support each other. Whether it is me or one of my colleagues working for a client, that client receives the benefit of the entire Burke company.
6. If you could be any natural feature, what would you be and why?
I would be a tropical beach. There is never a dull moment when you are ocean front enjoying the weather!
